Marcie MacRae was raised in one of the most active and influential piping families in the Northwest.
Marcie has been playing tenor drum for 25 years, bass drum for 14 years and instructing beginners for 15 years. She has studied both bagpipes and side drumming as well as piano, guitar, clarinet and is a classically and jazz trained vocalist. She graduated from the University of Washington College of Communications.
Marcie played both tenor and bass drum with the Washington Scottish Pipe Band, Bass in Seattle Pipe Band, competed individually and has stepped in to play for several other bands on occasion. She has instructed with numerous local bands, and their members in both group workshops and private instruction.
Her passion is Northwest Junior Pipe Band and the kids that she and her fellow instructors teach. She is a founding instructor and takes pride in every one of her students and their accomplishments. See her students page where they shine.
