Audrey started tenor lessons with Marcie at NWJPB in January 2007. In February, she attended the Mastery of Scottish Arts winter school with champion tenor drummer with Tyler Fry of the The House of Edgar Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Band, who was blown away by her quick study. Tyler sent Marcie a note telling her she’s doing great things for our area, and to keep up the great work.
Audrey competes in Highland Dance as well, and at the Tacoma Highland Games June 28th, placed 4th, 5th, and 6th.
Tenor Drumming: Promoted from the Grade 5 band to Grade 4 for the Portland Highland Games, finishing the season in Grade 4.

Brandon is a kit drummer that volunteered to take on the Bass drum for NWJPB Grade 4 this year. He’s really getting the groove and had his first performance with the band in February 2007 for Gung Haggis Fat Choy. Since then, Brandon has performed and competed several times with the band, and nobody would know he’s only been playing Bass since the end of Summer last year. He’s come a long way quickly and they’ve got a solid tempo with him anchoring the mid-section.
Brandon played a mean bass drum all season for NWJPB, winning 2nd place in the Grade 4 Drum Fanfare competition at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games, and best drum corps at both the Tacoma Highland Games and Whidbey Island Highland Games.

Katie started with Marcie in late Spring of 2006, and competed with NWJPB at the end of the season Whidbey Island Highland Games, doing a great job in a very short period of time. Katie has joined the Grade 4 band and competed with NWJPB at the Annual Gathering held by the BC Piper’s Associationin early April. In a very short time, the Northwest Junior Grade 4 Band has come together, and Marcie couldn’t be happier with their progress!
